Iannone storms to P1 during FP3 at Aragon, Bulega P3 and Razgatlioglu P4
2024 Aragon race winner Andrea Iannone returned to P1 at the Spanish venue, finishing ahead of Sam Lowes
Andrea Iannone (Team Pata GoEleven) is back on top after claiming P1 in Free Practice 3 for the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship at MotorLand Aragon. The Italian, who was victorious at the same circuit in 2024, left it late to move into top spot as he led a trio of Ducatis in first, second and third with riders preparing for the Tissot Superpole session for the Tissot Aragon Round.
‘The Maniac’ set the fastest lap of the weekend so far with a 1’48.023s as he claimed first place in FP3 with a late lap on his Independent Panigale V4R machine as Iannone looks to return to the rostrum for the first time since the season-opening Australian Round. He beat Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team) by more than three tenths with the #14 also under Toprak Razgatlioglu's (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) FP1 time, which had stood as the fastest of the weekend.
Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) was third fastest after he followed rival Razgatlioglu for a lot of the 20-minute session, setting a 1’48.391s to lap a tenth quicker than the #1. Razgatlioglu had a moment at Turn 8 while ‘Bulegas’ was following him but still set the fourth fastest lap time, with Dominique Aegerter (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team) and Andrea Locatelli (Pata Maxus Yamaha) completing the top six.
Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing Team) finished FP3 in seventh place, ahead of Xavi Vierge (Honda HRC) in eighth who put in a late lap to secure a spot in the top ten. Axel Bassani (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) was ninth in FP3 with Jonathan Rea (Pata Maxus Yamaha) rounding out the top ten.

Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) was 13th after he had a crash at Turn 9, losing the front of his Ducati, but the #19 was able to re-join the session following the spill.
